Father

For Lado and his younger brother, an unexpected visit from their father leads them to ask the burning question: "Where has he been so long?" But no answer is forthcoming, and instead of an apology he gives them a gift they might appreciate if they were still kids. In returning to their criminal ways, the brothers try to wash away the bad taste left by the embarrassing encounter, but later events convince them that feeling nothing is no help at all. In the eyes of the director his characters are not delinquents but wounded children who are able to grow up through their proximity to tragedy. (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
