Arthur est un spécialiste du recouvrement de créances. Il peut déstabiliser ses clients au point qu’ils sont prêts à rendre l’argent uniquement pour avoir la paix. I guess dialogue-based movies take a lot of skill. For instance, the French seem to have been born for those. Nevertheless, this small-scale Russian film is not too shaby, either. You see, The Collector is quite an interesting piece that turns the collector into a victim. And with the times being what they are, you are quite happy about the situation that he got himself into and you wait for how it’s going to unravel. It eventually unravels into something you would only imagine happening in a French drama and it hits the spot. I was satisfied and even though the lead actor’s portrayal of his character took some getting used to, in the end I have to say that it’s probably the first dialogue-based film from Russia I have ever seen and I applaud it.
