River of Life and Death

Film footage taken during a trip around the world with J.A. Bata and A. Hackenschmied. When they got to India, Hackenschmied remained there alone and then traveled one part of India and the island of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). He was especially fascinated by the Ganges River and what it means to India. From this material Elmar Klos later edited together three documentaries: Poor People, River of Life and Death, and Memories of Paradise. (Zlín Film Festival)
