The bright white glow of the largest salt field in the world could once be seen on the moon. The families who made a living collecting salt in this forgotten corner of Bolivia are slowly disappearing. Their homes will join the new infrastructure that will connect them to the rest of civilisation. The salt field is in fact changing into a mine for the more profitable lithium. Moises, who was born here and worked at the salt fields every day with his brother, is watching the change with a heavy heart. In poetic images, we set off on a journey with the last "salero" and his family from their ancestral home to the big city jungle. There is no way to return. (One World)
