anglais A beautiful "family" film. Karel Hašler's son, Gina, directed a romance inspired in many details by the lives that surrounded him. He let his father, the singer-songwriter, just watch the story on the old castle steps and later in the Lucerna box. On the other hand, he made his maternal uncle, Rudolf Friml, the main hero, who was played by Karel Höger. It is no coincidence that such material was financed by Havel and Nezval, and the cherry on top was added by the tender Lída Baarová. There is something appealing about the whole project, perhaps because of the old Prague romance, which only turns fatal thanks to the experience of one of the lovers from America and culminates in the great hall of Lucerna, a symbol of Czech culture during the heyday of the Havel family business.
