The Offering is just another exorcism film that might initially give you the impression that it's more interesting than it actually is. It’s not, because everything happening here is just superficial, a kind of veneer beneath which things are rotting badly. It's true that the visual effects, especially towards the end, have a few moments that can capture your attention. Unfortunately, that's really all there is to it.
