Občanská naděje

An actor owns a small theatre in which he acts and directs. One day he is contacted by an unknown and wealthy man with an unpleasant speech defect who asks the actor to give him elocution lessons. He intends to run for a seat in the Senate on the ballot of Civic Hope, an independent political party he has founded himself. In exchange for his help, the actor's theatre stands to gain an interesting financial support. Reluctant to sell himself to a politician, the actor declines the offer; however, his negative position is about to change when his theatre loses the annual state budget subsidy. This is a story of corruption and modern slavery. (IFF Bratislava)
