In the 18th century, Prussia was a small country surrounded by powerful kingdoms. Frederick the Great was the enlightened ruler who strengthened Prussia. While displaying his masterful military talent and administrative skills, Frederick also had a deep understanding of art and contributed to the development of the rococo style. He was greatly attached to his Sanssouci Palace, which he had a hand in designing. Unlike the name of his castle - Sans souci means "without care" - Frederick led a life full of sorrow. This is the story of the anguish and discord in the life of a man destined to be a king. (texte officiel du distributeur)
