Nagy Sándor, the chairman of an agricultural co-operative, looks back upon his life in this film, through a series of scenes occasionally played by actors. Between 1945 and the time of making the film Nagy Sándor has committed everything to be able to stay clean as a human being. He worked according to the best of his knowledge and talents for his local village, his co-operative and for the people. He recalls the pig-farm, his persecution because of the house he built for himself with his own efforts, but also of his awards. During the past 30 years, he became physically disabled and had to withdraw to early retirement. Now he asks himself the question: was it worth it? (texte officiel du distributeur)
