Mr. Sloane (2014)

anglais The first time I saw Nick Frost was in Shaun of the Dead and he instantly became my favorite. Via other movies with Simon Pegg and The Boat that Rocked I made it to Mr. Sloane and I have no regrets. The series was entertaining on both fronts, comedy as well as drama. Nick Frost did an excellent job playing the title character, and I enjoyed it even more thanks to the awesome retro vibe that was maintained throughout the whole show. ()

Meet Mr. Sloane (2014) (E01)

anglais The first episode introduced me to the tragicomic character Jeremy Sloan, whom I immediately knew I would find extremely likable. The creators managed to create a functioning retro atmosphere of the 1960s, and I also enjoyed the flashbacks from the protagonist's past. I am looking forward to the next episodes. ()

It's a Date, Mr. Sloane (2014) (E02)

anglais I really enjoyed the second meeting with Jeremy Sloan, his ability to gain and lose a job within a few moments really got to me, as well as his effortless initiation of a conversation about ironmongery. So far, the series is developing in the right way and I hope it will continue like this. ()

Everybody Must Get Sloaned (2014) (E03)

anglais Hmmm, well I don't know, either I have the episodes on my DVD divided differently, or the content doesn't match well for the fourth episode. The lightning-fast organized bachelor party and its consequences were great, but this time I was most intrigued by the mix-up of mail deliveries and Mr. Pitman's fate. // "You can't go a day without gambling." "Want to bet?" ()

Merry Christmas, Mr. Sloane (2014) (E04)

anglais As I found out in the previous episode, I have a version with differently arranged parts, so brownies didn't happen until now and I couldn't appreciate it any other way than with five stars. The creators once again continued with returns to Sloan's memories and I must say they succeeded. ()

Happy New Year, Mr. Sloane: Part 1 (2014) (E05)

anglais The fifth episode brought a serious, dramatic motif to the plot, which surprisingly didn't bother me at all because it gave the involved characters a new dimension. What was really annoying me, though, were the repetitive visits of Mrs. Wyndham, which I would easily skip completely. ()

Happy New Year, Mr. Sloane: Part 2 (2014) (E06)

anglais The sixth episode worked very well for me. There was a significant decrease in humor, the whole episode was more on a dramatic wave this time, and maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much. Jeremy Sloane beautifully demonstrated how to lose women and "friends" in one episode, yet still strive for a brighter future. ()
