Mr. Sloane (2014)

anglais The first time I saw Nick Frost was in Shaun of the Dead and he instantly became my favorite. Via other movies with Simon Pegg and The Boat that Rocked I made it to Mr. Sloane and I have no regrets. The series was entertaining on both fronts, comedy as well as drama. Nick Frost did an excellent job playing the title character, and I enjoyed it even more thanks to the awesome retro vibe that was maintained throughout the whole show. ()

Meet Mr. Sloane (2014) (E01)

anglais I instantly found the tragicomic character of Jeremy Sloaneincredibly likable. The creators nailed the retro atmosphere of the 60s, and I enjoyed the flashbacks of the main character's past. I'm looking forward to the next episodes. ()

It's a Date, Mr. Sloane (2014) (E02)

anglais Just as entertaining as the first episode. Jeremy Sloane's knack for getting and losing a job within moments and his effortless conversation starter in the hardware store were hilarious. The series is developing nicely, and I hope it continues this way. ()

Everybody Must Get Sloaned (2014) (E03)

anglais The quickly organized bachelor party and its aftermath were fantastic, but what really got me this time was the mix-up with the mail and Mr. Pitman's fate. // "You can't go one day without gambling, can you?" "Wanna bet?" ()

Merry Christmas, Mr. Sloane (2014) (E04)

anglais The scene with the brownies was a highlight — and I couldn't rate this episode any less than five stars. The creators continued to delve into Sloane's memories, and I must say, they did it brilliantly. ()

Happy New Year, Mr. Sloane: Part 1 (2014) (E05)

anglais The episode introduced a serious, dramatic element to the story, which surprisingly didn’t bother me at all. It added new depth to the characters. However, what really annoyed me were the repeated visits from Mrs. Wyndham. I could have done without those. ()

Happy New Year, Mr. Sloane: Part 2 (2014) (E06)

anglais A great episode. The humor took a back seat, and the story sailed on a more dramatic wave, which might be why I enjoyed it so much. Jeremy Sloane expertly demonstrated how to lose both women and "friends" in a single episode, yet still head toward brighter days. ()
