The tranquility of the kingdom is shaken when a group of bandits appear at the ball. The King has a strong sense of justice and when the crooks convince him that he owes them, he believes it. The debt can be paid back by giving Princess Amalie to marry one the thieves, together with half of the kingdom, of course. (Oulu International Children's and Youth Film Festival)

anglais Better than last year's Month’s Rulers (by the same director), but far from a really good fairytale. The beginning is not bad, but once it gets to the action and adventure, it goes downhill. The escape from the castle was still somewhat ok (the jumping on the roofs was helped mainly by Brzobohatý's generous music), but not so the subsequent fights, the boat ride, the swamp, the rescue... Anyway, the main duo was pleasant, humor flashed here and there, Jiří Bartoška wore probably the same wig that Dustin Hoffman wore in Hook, and one of the roles was given to Petr Nárožný, reliable in every situation ("He wore that on purpose to move my liver!"). anglais I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this fairy tale. There were quite interesting characters here that didn't offend me in any way, and even though the story is a bit of a mess, somehow it just clicked for me. It's not a fairy tale I'd want to watch every year, but for that one viewing, it's quite nice in my opinion. It didn't ruin my Christmas. ()
