(Diaphana Distribution)

anglais A pretty solid German drama set in this gray part of Berlin that doesn’t have much to show other than one incredibly dysfunctional family. Jack and his brother for instance are very interesting characters and you can see Jack’s brain really struggling with his idea of what family means. But the craziest character is the mother, whose kids are gone God knows where for four days and she doesn’t give a damn. I must say the ending literally pissed me off and I was also a bit disappointed that the author actually laid the entire story on the 16-year-old Jack, in whom something awoke at the end of the movie that his mother will never have and that’s why things ended up the way they did.
