"The Famed Goldsmiths of Aura" is one of the first films in colour portraying the city of Turku. Turku has been an artisan city ever since its foundation in 1229. Goldsmiths and silversmiths practiced their trade in shops on the shores of the Aura River as early as 1371. Directed by Yrjö Aaltonen, the short film is a concise depiction of the old work methods used by jewelers. (Tampere Film Festival)
