Bagong Silang

Bagong Silang is a film about a community that inhabit a cemetery. Manila, the capital of the Philippines, has a population of 20 million and space is limited; this is why many thousands of families have taken to squatting and living in the city's cemeteries, they build their houses out of bamboo, sheeted metal and tarpaulin. This film gives us a glimpse into this exceptional community providing an insight in the day to day life of people born into poverty. (Tampere Film Festival)
