Les Opportunistes

I can’t help but feel like every time I find a relatively new Italian movie in the last few years, it always comes down to a decision between three and four stars. The loud and overly emotive nature that’s showcased in almost every Italian movie including this one just isn’t the right fit for me. I think that they could do without a lot of those uncomfortable situations and everyone would be better for it. Human Capital isn’t any different. The story can be engaging, but the characters are the issue I can’t get over – even if they behave and seem their absolute best at certain moments. However, what’s interesting are the movie’s free shifts into the past and then back into the future through the present. At times, it’s confusing as all hell, but the ending seals it all in quite a masterful way. (02/04/2015)
