anglais I will not review the series as a whole because I only watched it briefly, but my first encounter ended with great confusion, despite the luxurious cast. It is too forced, and childish, and I can't remember being bothered by canned laughter anywhere else like here. It is essentially the essence of the sitcom genre, which in such a pure form is, in my opinion, outdated. This is so sitcom-like that it could serve as a television backdrop within another series. It feels so exaggerated to me... ()

anglais I couldn’t imagine I would laugh so much while watching a Britcom about two gays who are Sirs in reality and are among the top British actors. Their lines were brilliant. It was really funny. Making fun of people both old and young. It is a pity that it only had 14 episodes. And in the last episode it was really evident that they don’t want this series to end. After a long time something from British production that is exactly what you love about Britcoms. ()

anglais Conversations with an immortal and unsuspecting mother. Constant verbal fights, bickering and innuendo of the sharpest calibre. Reassurance about the condition of an ancient pet. Repeated introductions to an old girlfriend. I could certainly go on like this for a while, listing elements that appear in virtually every episode of this incredibly funny British sitcom. The cast is absolutely perfect – Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi are very convincing, Frances de la Tour is every inch the boozy and flirtatious comedian, and the hitherto unknown to me Iwan Rheon also pleasantly surprised me. This immensely likeable quartet is complemented by other funny supporting characters who entertain as much as the protagonists. For some it may be a repetition of the same thing, over and over again, but for me it works because I am royally entertained and laughing almost continuously. In short, an excellent, endlessly entertaining and very well cast sitcom that really sat well with me. ()
