From Alan Ball, creator/EP of True Blood, this exciting new Cinemax action drama charts the twists and turns that follow Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an ex-convict who improbably becomes sheriff of a rural, Amish-area town while searching for a woman he last saw 15 years ago, when he gave himself up to police to let her escape after a jewel heist. Living in Banshee under an assumed name, Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic) is now married to the local DA, has two children (one of whom may be Lucas'), and is trying desperately to keep a low profile – until Lucas arrives to shake up her world and rekindle old passions. Complicating matters is the fact that Banshee is riddled by corruption, with an Amish overlord, Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen), brutally building a local empire of drugs, gambling and graft. With the help of a boxer-turned-barkeeper named Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison), Lucas is able to stay on even footing with Kai and his thugs, and even manages to bring a measure of tough justice to Banshee. But eventually, Lucas' appetite for pulling heists pulls him and Carrie into a dangerous cauldron of duplicity, exacerbated when Mr. Rabbit (Ben Cross), the NY mobster they once ripped off, closes in with vengeance on his mind. Un mal pour un mal (2014) (S02E08)

anglais I enjoyed the sheriff putting pressure on Proctor — it finally got interesting. The Aryans' revenge kept the pace up, so I was never bored. Emmett's payback was also pretty satisfying. I just wish the creators would tone down the melodramatic speeches and the constant reminders of how terrible it is to be a black man. ()

Retour aux sources (2014) (S02E09)

anglais Back to the same old routine. Job's solo action in the church seemed like the result of a screenwriter's mental breakdown — I couldn't make sense of it otherwise. We had yet another stupid Gordon-sheriff-Carrie argument (I've lost count of how many), and the highlight was the hospital fight between two assassins, with one taking a nurse hostage. WTF?? He might as well have held the gun to his own head and threatened to shoot himself if the other guy didn't drop his weapon. I almost collapsed from laughing: DDDDD. ()

Balles et larmes (2014) (S02E10)

anglais Another episode filled with flashbacks. The creators seem to love them so much that they should just make a ten-episode prequel and get it out of their system. Yet another fight (this time with the Chinese), a naive shootout in a church, and (who would've guessed) another last-minute rescue. At least it set things up for season three pretty well. And I can’t express how heartbroken I am that I won’t be watching it. ()
