Occupied (2015)

anglais Definitely a high-quality Norwegian series, and I enjoyed it. The Norwegian Prime Minister was introduced to the concept of the Munich Treaty in the first episode, I was entertained by all that political dancing around and especially balancing the concepts of patriotism and collaboration, resistance and terrorism. I also came to the conclusion that if I wanted to kidnap a prime minister, I would choose to do so in Norway. ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

anglais Season 1 of Occupied was quite well made. It’s true that there were some weaker moments here and there. If the story was set in Japan, I suppose the Prime Minister's bodyguards would perform a ritual seppuku. Anyway, I did enjoy the first season. I certainly wasn't bored, and, as is customary for me, I instantly took a liking to the cynical Ambassador Sidorova with her poker face and occasional condescending smile. ()

Juillet (2015) (S01E04)

anglais I remain satisfied with the series even after July. The plot has intensified even more and it starts dealing with how exactly the difference between resistance and terrorism looks when innocent people start dying. The series is definitely not intended for Troška's fans, with some topics even a philosopher would have a hard time thinking about for a while. ()

Octobre (2015) (S01E07)

anglais And here comes October, which brought even more complications to an already highly complicated situation. The atmosphere thickens and becomes gloomier with each episode, while the fifth episode came with an outright explosive ending, and the end of the seventh part is extremely chilling. ()

Décembre - Partie 2 (2015) (S01E10)

anglais The second half of December didn't disappoint me, but I enjoyed the first half a little more. They have kidnapped the prime minister again... The resistance has evidently resolved to take clear action, and the ending couldn't be more transparent, even if they added a bottle opener to it. ()

Season 2 (2017) (S02)

anglais Season 2 of Occupied wasn’t disappointing. On the contrary, I was pleased because I was expecting a drop in quality compared to the first season. Actually, I think that the Norwegian filmmakers did an even better job in the second season. Once again, I liked all the political machinations and I enjoyed how the creators managed to draw a thin line between responsibility and betrayal, a fair fight and crime. Well done. ()

Août (2017) (S02E01)

anglais Just like my colleague Cheeter, I had concerns from the second row, but the rebels took their time, they didn't rush anything, instead they jumped into action in August and already in the first episode they convinced me that I will enjoy the second season, so hurrah for September! ()

Septembre (2017) (S02E02)

anglais I don't know what it is, but I really enjoy this Norwegian political dance between the eggs. I am only worried about the character of former Prime Minister Jesper Berg, I have already finished the second episode and he hasn't been kidnapped even once. Weird. I'm glad that the creators didn't let themselves be carried away and didn't increase the number of episodes, so I can calmly expect them to maintain the same quality until the end of the season. ()

Octobre (2017) (S02E03)

anglais Oh well, in Norway they had October while we had a storm and the air was like in a sauna. Once again, the screenwriters didn't hesitate and filled the episode with many events, tension, and action. The story unfolded at a very decent pace this time as well, so I had a good time again and boredom didn't threaten even by accident. ()

Novembre (2017) (S02E04)

anglais In the previous episode, I wondered where Jesper Berg had disappeared, and now it's clear to me. He was swimming along the Norwegian coast all the time, then he swam across the Kattegat Strait and said: "I am so happy!" and finally reached the Polish coast. This was a very successful episode, from which I learned two lessons right away. If you make a deal with Russia, you can't rely on Ukrainians, and if you want to threaten someone, don't stand in front of an open window. ()

Décembre (2017) (S02E05)

anglais I was enjoying this, the whole episode reminded me of chess. Every political move was immediately countered, but I also liked the development around the investigation led by FSP and the situation in the hotel Domov. I really liked the realization of how difficult it is to admit a murder in Norway, no matter how much you want to. ()

Janvier (2017) (S02E06)

anglais Originally, I wanted to rate the sixth episode with four stars, but I had to add a fifth one for that uncompromising Finn. Pierre Anselme also entertained me - this is exactly how I imagine a typical European commissioner. ()

Février, partie 1 (2017) (S02E07)

anglais I absolutely agree with Cheeter. That hacking action was the weakest part of the whole episode. I think if it were that easy, the Earth would have long been a nuclear wasteland. Why launch only conventional missiles, right? Nevertheless, the seventh part nicely paved the way for the final episode. ()

Février, partie 2 (2017) (S02E08)

anglais Hmmm, so, the final episode wasn't bad at all, but the creators have clearly shown me that they are capable of more. I had the feeling that they had the story under control the whole time, but it got a bit out of hand in the actual ending. It could have been better, but it could have also turned out much worse, so I give it a hesitant 4*. ()
