Camouflage

Je découvre l’œuvre de Krzysztof Zanussi sur la deuxième chaîne de la Télévision tchèque et j’en suis ravi ! C’est que, pour moi, le thème central de la discorde entre l’idéaliste naïf et le caméléon expérimenté fait mouche. Je tiens à faire remarquer la qualité du jeu à la fois des acteurs principaux et secondaires. Certes, on bascule un peu dans le grotesque et l’absurde à la fin, mais c’était en tout cas extrêmement divertissant ! (01/10/2012)

Great movie that once again shows the strength of older Polish cinematography - I should probably catch up on some new ones. Besides the "luck" I had spending some time at a Czech university as an academic worker and knowing that things still operate very similarly there, I have to appreciate the excellently developed characters. Another Zanussi journey into the depths of the soul of a Polish university student. In The Structure of Crystal, I found it almost charming, in The Illumination somewhat destructive and audience-unfriendly to the point of being unacceptable. And here? The protective coloring may have a noble tendency, but if one is engaged in studying oneself, one could take a very, very negative attitude toward academia. Indeed, it could cause one moral unease.
