The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. I really enjoyed the first season. The individual characters had depth, and although the series deals with serious issues, its intelligent humor makes it more than just a boring drama. I would have been five-star material if it hadn't been for the awfully melodramatic fifth episode.
