Generasi biru

In his musical documentary, Garin Nugroho focuses on a popular Indonesian band, Slank, which influenced and inspired a whole generation of listeners by its politicized lyrics and government criticism. They especially denounced the extreme militarism, arresting dissidents, capital punishment or torturing prisoners. Fans of this band have established a movement that advocates peace, unity and love. The documentary brings an unusual portrayal of the Indonesian society during president Suharto's regime. The film combines musical documentary, pantomime, live shows, interviews, and animation.
