anglais The modernization is still far from complete. And the same applies to the stylization, overall playfulness, murderous tempo, pulsating London atmosphere and the overall movieness; this all applies to this regular pilot episode which is a long way from being the same in the half-hour longer packaging. In fact, here the outcome of the main plot is presented better; here Sherlock works it out along with the viewer. But what is already evident is the chemistry between the central duo. In this shape it would have made a good series that would have turned some heads. But in hindsight, I am not in the least surprised that the BBC immediately stopped production of further regular episodes. Ordering instead feature length episodes with a considerably more generous budget. And that is no surprise - you can feel the massive (but woefully not completely exploited) potential at every turn.
