Joe May is a douchebag, an asshole and an idiot, and some women would definitely also call him a bastard. Maybe that’s why this movie is called The Last Rites of Joe May. And those last rites are really something. In my opinion, this movie is definitely not as ordinary as it seems at first glance. Dennis Farina proved that he can deliver a very good performance, and even though he and his life stink of scumminess from a mile away, as I was watching his final journey through life with the light in my soul slightly dimmed, his story somehow managed to win me over.
