Season 6 (2016) (S06)

anglais Season 6 was weirdly unbalanced. Up until Episode 5, I felt the show had lost its spark. I wasn't enjoying myself and even considered saying goodbye to the protagonists, but then the story picked up momentum, the plot got way more interesting, and I started having fun. I did stumble across a few weaker moments before the final episode, but, overall, I was happy with this season. ()

Aux problèmes (2016) (S06E01)

anglais Unfortunately, this episode left me disappointed. Mike acted like a complete idiot in prison, despite claiming to love The Shawshank Redemption — clearly, he didn't grasp the movie's message. The entire episode lacked energy and was way too focused on playing the emotional card, which just didn't work for me. ()

Payer sa dette (2016) (S06E02)

anglais The second episode felt just like the first, and I’m still not impressed. Mike's time in prison is a bad joke, and I can't help but wonder if the screenwriter had a lobotomy to come up with this. Once again, the creators laid on the melodrama too thick, so my enthusiasm is seriously waning. ()

Renaissance (2016) (S06E03)

anglais I’m not sure if I’m just not in the right mindset for season six yet, or if it’s simply falling flat. After the first three episodes, this season feels incredibly heavy-handed. There’s barely anything to laugh at, and I’ve had my fill of emotional outbursts and moral lessons. It’s all a bit too much. ()

Une parenthèse (2016) (S06E04)

anglais Well, my feelings about season six haven't really changed. Actually, there was one small difference – I did enjoy Louis's sudden crush on the architect. But otherwise, it's the same old story: the plot's still heavy-handed, and the melodrama continues unabated. Three stars, mostly for Louis. ()

Confiance (2016) (S06E05)

anglais For the first time this season, I actually enjoyed an episode. The lawyers finally got down to some real lawyering, and thankfully, Louis went off the deep end again, giving me a good laugh. Why ask someone on a date when you can just buy a house for a few hundred thousand dollars, right? ()

Un château en Espagne (2016) (S06E06)

anglais Another episode I really enjoyed. Thankfully. The first four episodes almost made me stop watching, but I'm glad I stuck with it because the story finally picked up. Plus, Louis and Donna had me laughing like crazy. ()

Témoin clé (2016) (S06E07)

anglais Sure, the constant pretense that every lawyer has a moral code compelling them to forget about money and fully empathize with their clients is a bit much, but there were far fewer of those sappy moments this time around. Overall, I had a blast. ()

Le Choix des armes (2016) (S06E08)

anglais Much like the previous episode, this one was very well written. Despite a few reservations, I still gave it five stars. The storyline about saving a death row inmate could have been more compelling if it didn't so blatantly tug at the heartstrings. ()

Bras de fer (2016) (S06E09)

anglais This episode kept everything working smoothly with trickery and counter-trickery. However, I'd vote to finally resolve Mike's deal — the constant changes are getting a bit tiresome, and the ending had a tad too much sentimentality for my taste. ()

Une femme (2016) (S06E10)

anglais I was pretty satisfied with this episode and could have given it a five stars. However, in the end, it was just a bit too melodramatic for me. I get it, that's on me — I’m just not that emotionally tuned in to fully enjoy these moments like other viewers might. But there's not much I can do about it. ()

Le Jour d'après (2017) (S06E11)

anglais With Jessica’s departure, the episode seemed to lose the atmosphere that made the previous ones so enjoyable. The writers reverted to the familiar battle between Louis and Harvey, but it feels like the show has evolved beyond that, leaving me a bit disappointed. 4*- ()

Les Retrouvailles (2017) (S06E12)

anglais Watching the sixth season feels like a rollercoaster ride. It started weak, picked up with some excellent episodes, and then dipped again. This episode focused more on family relationships than the cunning intrigues and legal battles I enjoy. If the creators aimed to add depth to the characters this way, they missed the mark. ()

Prises de risque (2017) (S06E13)

anglais A significant improvement over the last episode, as the creators brought the legal drama back into focus. Although the story's pace wasn't the quickest, it was great to see the show return to its roots. However, the overly sentimental moments were still a bit much for my taste. ()

Sur la corde raide (2017) (S06E14)

anglais The legal drama was in full swing, the plot was engaging, and the story's pace picked up nicely. It even felt like there was less emotional manipulation this time. However, the excessive moralizing, which is becoming a staple in American series, still grated on my nerves. ()

Tout ou rien (2017) (S06E16)

anglais Even though I saw the ending coming, I wasn't disappointed. Sure, there were a few cringeworthy moments with all the motivational speeches, but the plot remained engaging and eventful. Louis added a nice twist to the ending, just when it was in danger of becoming overly sentimental. ()
