anglais Before anything, I must say that I only watched a couple of episodes of the original Wipeout during booze-fuelled sessions with fiends. Some of the falls made me laugh, but it’s not a show I would watch alone regularly, it’s just too silly. I watched the Czechoslovak version by chance, this time during a pipe session, but that’s irrelevant. What’s important is that it was a very long borefest that wanted to be taken seriously. Why the hell do the hosts have to constantly speak about the great performances of the Czechoslovak celebrities, when one of them almost died of old age, the second out of fear of heights, and the only one who at least tried, Brzobohatý, almost broke his thumb? I understand that when it comes to a battle between nations, they root for the Czech team somehow, but the lack of common sense was unintentionally funny. And then there’s the commentary about the foreign competitors that was pure nonsense. Yeah, and the obstacles in this version aren’t that great either. In the original episodes I watched they were better and harder. Thumbs down, I will watch it next time, also by chance. ()
