Rookies On Board

When the students Reidar (22), Audun (23) and Ole (22) started university in 2002 they soon got bored with life on campus. So they all used their scholarships to buy the 30 year-old sailing yacht “Sumithra”.None of the boys had any experience sailing. They did not know where they would head and had no idea when they return home. The only thing they were sure about was that they would continue their studies while sailing around the world.
Three years later, the young men are no longer rookies. They have sailed from palm trees and coconuts in the Pacific Ocean, to grizzly bears and a near shipwreck in Alaska. They have experienced the ultimate wilderness in Greenland, with mountain climbing and stunning icebergs. And yes: They all passed their university exams with flying colours.
