After police arrest two brothers, Artur and Martin, at their aunt's provincial motel and take them to jail, we're taken through flashbacks to learn the motive of the crime. How did such evil boys come from a good family? Their mother loves them and her husband, who's broken by his military experience in Iraq. She helps a music student, Eva, who lives with them and cares for their autistic daughter Jadza. She's kind to stray cats, who fill up their flat. Artur begins to believe the illusion that he can control minds. He controls the younger Martin; their mother suspects nothing. His sense of power swells with the growing impotence of his father, whom he scorns... But their motives don't reflect the gravity of their actions, whose reconstruction includes the crime itself, characterized by the fall of traditional values. (Zlín Film Festival)
