anglais "The drama of a person who lost their sense of honor" is now only an interesting curiosity from the beginning of Jana Brejchová's career. Otherwise, The Golden Spider is a typical 50s crime film that merely teaches. Moreover, there is an extremely strange handling of time here, and it is not entirely clear how many years the story spans. The characters are comically black and white, the positive protagonist is positive with an exclamation mark (Bek's SNB lieutenant seems to be a model for the later character 30 Cases of Major Zeman), while the negative characters are predestined to fail... Particularly awkward is the American caricature of Oldřich Nový, as his bartender Charlie is one of the worst roles he ever played. Among other mistakes is Růžek's awkward villain and, of course, his pseudo-fatal mistress Fialová. Nevertheless, it is occasionally pleasant to see Vrchota in the lead role and, of course, Brejchová, who is touchingly adorable in every shot. ()
