The Blind Side

Je m'attendais à quelque chose de différent, j'avais des informations erronées et trompeuses sur le film, mais cela n'a en rien affecté mon impression finale. Très émouvante, l'histoire basée sur des faits réels a suscité en moi des émotions positives. Je ne comprends tout simplement pas pourquoi Sandra Bullock a été récompensée. Ça me trotte dans la tête bien après la fin et je n'arrive pas à me l'expliquer. D'accord, c'est un rôle différent de toutes ces comédies et tous ces thrillers où elle sourit ou a peur, mais je ne trouve pas que ce soit une performance époustouflante. À tout le moins, ses concurrentes Meryl Streep et Carey Mulligan m'ont plus enthousiasmé. Cela dit, je ne veux pas non plus minimiser ce que Sandra Bullock a montré et la façon dont elle a géré le rôle d'une femme obstinée et déterminée qui a sauvé un homme talentueux d'un destin funeste. The Pursuit of Happiness on steroids, only that instead of the stock exchange, we have rugby. It's clear that overweight middle-class Americans, who are blindly full of the right values, with a preference for the simplest and most understandable (i.e., literally as stupid as possible), loved this and went to the cinema in droves. But comprehensively speaking, this "how it's supposed to look" commercial has neither a dramatic arc nor a hallmark of realism. It's all too stilted, straightforward and uncomplicated, going for a simple level start-finish. But individuals who have to fight for something more than the standard in life know very well that this is not exactly how it works. Sandra Bullock's acting is very economical and spot on – her interactions with the characters, on the other hand, are fantasy. (10/09/2015)

The script, somehow very Americanized, doesn't allow me to believe that something like this could really happen. The whole thing is extremely idealized and desperately predictable. It seems to me like a sports fairy tale for children and adults, which is nice to look at, but that's all. (50%) (04/01/2021)

Sandra Bullock's role of a lifetime. A strong mother with emotion, love, and courage. A beautiful story about how being great doesn't mean being confident. The first half of the film was very moving, the second half, when everything was all about football, was a bit weaker in my opinion. (29/10/2010)
