26-year-old Robert Zimmermann (Tom Schilling) designs video games; he is young, trendy and cool. Between family gatherings in the home of his well-to-do parents, the virtual worlds of his profession and his relationship with his colleague, Lorna (Julia Dietze), he has his life all under control. But when by chance he is confronted with the attractive, experienced and significantly older Monika (Maruschka Detmers), love hits him like a lightening bolt and confusion ensues. On closer inspection, and to Robert's great surprise, it appears that the people around him are going through similar experiences: His father (Adam Oest) discovers the onset of delayed youth, his mother (Marlen Diekhoff) an aptitude for poetry, his lesbian sister (Annika Kuhl) her desire to have children, and his best friend Ole (Christian Sengewald) the pitfalls of the world of lonely hearts ads. As Robert seeks Monika's affection, his appreciation for the diversity and ubiquity of the wonders of love begins to grow. (texte officiel du distributeur)
