This isn’t primarily (or even secondarily) about the emergence of “Origin of the Species", nor about Darwin or the Theory of Evolution as such. Primarily, it is a well-acted, bittersweet drama and only afterwards what I said above. At the beginning inventive (“fairytale" story-telling to the daughter, the cycle of life in the grass behind the house) and powerful theme, but it changes direction all too soon and begins to run on one self-pitying spot. P.S.: Paul "Stephen Maturin" Bettany for the role of Darwin was a great choice, augmented further by casting of the wife. (30/12/2010)

I didn’t expect this with CREATION, but I don’t have anything bad to say about the movie. Great direction, an excellent cast (Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany and that little girl too) a beautifully captured story about a family, love, losses and about a life strung between science and faith. All this tinged by touching background music by Christopher Young. (11/02/2010)
