Foxtrot is an action thriller that examines the personal conflict between two young men trapped in a situation which becomes unbearable in the space of 24 hours. As the suspense-filled dialogue engages the audience, the relationship between the two half-brothers deteriorates. The story builds up to the attempted rape and murder of a hitchhiker during the transport of a security cargo. The main location of Foxtrot is the south coast of Iceland, where the surrealistic blend of volcanic sandflats, iceberg formations and glacial highlands actively contributes to the development of the film's explosive plot. Foxtrot's psychological subject-matter is relevant to everyone in modern society, and the special manner of presentation brings it forth in an unusually crisp and emotionally effective way. The themes include how it feels to be young, the need to bridge the gap separating one from a relative where the relationship ought to be close, to idolise someone, to take responsibility for one's own, and sometimes others actions - and the ultimate pain and strength that may be required to grow up into an adult.
