John Adams

I've been digging into cable TV original programming for a long, long time, and now it's time for a rehash of HBO's past. HBO's excellent mini-series chronicles the rise of John Adams and his family. This Founding Father and 2nd President of the United States (1797-1801) was at many key moments in history at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. As a native of Quincy, Massachusetts, he has been through a lot. He stood at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, spent many years in foreign policy in France, Holland, and England, and over the years managed to raise one more offspring to become the future 6th President of the United States. This is ideal stuff for lovers of this stage of history, and an ideal starting point for those who need to further their studies. Simply comparing pre-revolutionary France with pre-revolutionary America is an excellent topic. #hbo (23/12/2019)
