(Groupe Canal+)

L'Asymétrie du prix Nobel (2019) (S12E13)

anglais The thirteenth episode wasn't as terrible as the last one, but it's still a far cry from the glory days of the show. The bickering over the Nobel Prize actually made it somewhat enjoyable this time, but the other plot didn't grab me as much. / Lesson learned: Don't let yourself be robbed of your achievements. Or your wallet. ()

La Météorite et le balcon de la discorde (2019) (S12E14)

anglais Alright, I didn't have high hopes for the rest of the twelfth season, but now I'm just hoping to scrape by with at least a two-star rating. There was basically nothing here besides Vogons. / Lesson learned: Want to get tough? Head over to the building authority. ()

Semence-abstinence (2019) (S12E15) Boo !

anglais Not again! I genuinely wonder if the creators grasp the magnitude of how badly they screwed up the show. I used to be in stitches, giving every episode a solid five stars, and now it's just frustrating. Who would've thought... / Lesson learned: When you are trying to decide on something, make sure you follow through. ()

Spécial Donjons et Dragons (2019) (S12E16)

anglais Talk about a plot twist! The creators ditched the usual relationship drama and baby planning – instead, we got into some Dungeons & Dragons action. Or at least it was talked about, but it was pretty hilarious nonetheless. The sixteenth episode felt like it wandered in from the seventh season; it didn't really fit iin with the rest. / Lesson learned: Don't know many celebrities? Consider it a plus. ()

Baby-sitting expérimental (2019) (S12E17)

anglais Every new episode just solidifies my belief that the twelfth season is on a downward slide, and this one didn't break the pattern. Still, Amin's experiment with Sheldon and his experiments with kids managed to get a chuckle out of me. Not enough for a twenty-minute episode, though. / Lesson learned: Innocent exercises to boost motor skills can seem weird when you test them on other people's kids at the park. ()

Les Escrocs du prix Nobel (2019) (S12E18)

anglais Seriously, it's just not cutting it anymore. I can't shake off this vibe that the creators are tossing the same stuff repeatedly, just with a fresh coat of paint each time. Luckily, I'm not colorblind, so I caught onto their little game pretty fast and didn't let myself be duped. The episode was a bizarre twenty-minute ride that served up more cringe than laughs. / Lesson learned: Want to be a hit in the States? Start singing. ()

Privation sensorielle (2019) (S12E19)

anglais I don't think the creators are putting in much effort anymore. What they served up was essentially recycled. I made a genuine effort to hunt for humor and quality in the nineteenth episode, but there was none to be found. / Lesson learned: Take a chill pill. ()

Leonard se rebelle (2019) (S12E20)

anglais I was pleasantly surprised - the episode caught me off guard, to be honest. I found myself genuinely enjoying it, even laughing a bit, which was totally unexpected given where the series is at. The creators finally shifted focus from the usual relationship drama and let Leonard and Sheldon have some quality interactions, and it made a noticeable difference. I'm not claiming it was a stellar episode, but the fact that I actually liked it probably says something about how it stood out compared to the letdowns we've seen recently. / Lesson learned: Pursue happiness. ()

Les Preuves du plagiat (2019) (S12E21)

anglais Well, it could have been worse. The twelfth season already brought far worse episodes, so the twenty-first didn't look that bad next to them. I'm not sure if it's a reason for celebration, though. / Lesson learned: When someone hits you, turn the other cheek. This nonsense could never work for me. Revengeeeeeee!!! ()

Coup de foudre à Beverly Hill (2019) (S12E22)

anglais As the series approaches its end, there's a natural need to provide a happy ending to all the plotlines that unfolded over the years. Disney brainwashes people, teaching them from early childhood that everything will turn out well. For them. Maybe that's why everyone in the US has a therapist. I was disappointed that even the previously entertaining interaction between Leonard and Beverly turned into a melodrama. / Lesson learned: Forgive, and you might be forgiven, too. Well, I'm not so sure. ()

Le Constant change (2019) (S12E23)

anglais The flashback montage was the funniest thing in the last couple of seasons. It was great reminiscing about what the show was like back when it was still funny. Even the plot of the episode was fine this time. / Lesson learned: Don't resist change; you'll fail anyway. ()

Clap de fin ! (2019) (S12E24)

anglais I never learn. Well, you know what they say about old dogs... Despite all the experience I've gathered with the series, I stupidly allowed myself to hope that the finale could be good. It couldn't. The creators didn't resist the temptation once again, turning the ending into a compilation of clichés, melodrama, and play on emotions, which would make me melt like a chocolate bar on a hot day if I weren't a cynical person (which I am). / Lesson learned: Don't judge the medal by its weight. ()
