I'll put my hand up for the fact that Jiří Sovák found a prototype for his character in one of the real retired military officers he met in his life, and that's why he is so convincing. And given his dislike of the previous regime, he must have been very amused by this sarcastic three-quarter-hour nagging. The ending is perfect.
