The motif behind the cinematography of an iconic moving train, interlaced with portraits of a street in a city quarter close to an oil refinery in California, consists of a rhythmic collage, in which the filmmaker propagates images of rushing freight cars and the world passing by outside, and layers the coloured details into fleeting arrangements composed of inner-city symbols and movable figures.
