anglais A very good production, interesting, but as a biographical film it is impossible to watch it, because Jindřich Šimon Baar was a real patriot, so he undoubtedly colored everything. But it doesn't matter, because the most important thing about his work and this film is the idea. And the idea is still valid, although today, unfortunately, patriotism hides behind all kinds of thoughtless actions. Both Jana Březinová and Radoslav Brzobohatý are good as the Němec husband and wife (Němcová is a resolute progressive woman, Němec is an honorable manly officer), but the most interesting role is played by Karel Höger. He portrayed the cunning scribe Bílek, who plays both sides of the game with the upper class and the peasants, with an admirable ease that is all his own. ()
