Luca, a talented young Italian musician, lives in Prague with his girlfriend Klára, a very pretty university student of whom he is insanely possessive of. Obsession and suspicion induce Luca to hire private detective Denis to keep tabs on Klára to find proof of adultery. Denis is attractive, slightly ironic and cynical, clearly the opposite of Luca. He and his wife Ruth have a very open relationship, in which Ruth makes no secret of her adventures with other men. Denis, on the other hand, is having a love affair with a colleague from the detective agency, Nina, a divorced mother of two. Although the disconsolate Luca gradually gains Denis’ sympathy, the detective starts to yield to Klára’s charms and to abandon his own principles, which can have tragic consequences. The sleuthing will take the main protagonists to the magical city of Venice, culminating in an unexpected finale that confirming that not everything or everyone is what or who they seem to be. anglais I can't help but think the poster is beautiful. But that's about it. At the time, everyone laughed about how bad it was, how the co-production didn't work, how the Italian actors were bad... but years later, it turned out to be just the first step to other similarly-conceived Czech hits like All or Nothing or Far Too Personal. That one is a throwback to those Geislerová mistakes from the turn of the millennium. Bad movies are being made and will continue to be made. ()
