A psychological crime drama with a distinct European visual style that seeks to capture life in the poorer neighborhoods of the city outskirts with a large number of immigrants and socioeconomically disadvantaged families, while aiming for raw authenticity. The main protagonist comes from a broken family and his mother has a very peculiar consumerist approach toward men. He tries to not only survive but also stand out in a hostile environment and chooses the deceitful path of cooperation with a drug gang. The film may disappoint some viewers with its failure to fulfill traditional genre schemes and by actually being quite unassuming. Overall impression: 70%.

L’arrière du décor berlinois avec pour guide David Kross, la star de The Reader. Mais je ne suis pas convaincu. On ne peut pas dire que je me sois ennuyé, mais je n’ai pas non plus passé un moment divertissant ou instructif.
