Kyoko rend visite à son petit ami dans le restaurant où il travaille. Lorsque le propriétaire, M. Wang, répond au téléphone, il reçoit un message annonçant sa mort immédiate. Son décès suscite la curiosité d'une journaliste qui révèle à Kyoko que son amie Madoka a reçu un appel similaire entrainant la mort de la jeune femme. Lors de l'autopsie de M. Wang et Madoka, Kyoko reçoit à son tour un appel téléphonique. La malédiction se répand comme un virus que rien ne semble pouvoir arrêter. (Metropolitan FilmExport)

"Missed Call II" is an example of how sequels are often made purely for the sake of having a sequel and to extract more money from viewers. There is no other effect here. Horror scenes, especially jump scares, are copied from the previous film or from other Japanese horrors of its time, and the movie gradually becomes too long and too boring to be able to hold the viewer's attention and provide that enjoyable chill down the spine.
