Jean, a shy waiter working in a grand hotel, is mistaken for a young millionaire by beautiful, scheming adventuress Irène. When she discovers his lowly status, Irène beats a quick retreat. But lovestruck Jean has no intention of letting her escape, and pursues her to the Côte d'Azur. Quickly running out of money, he adopts his beloved's lifestyle, setting himself up as a gigolo and moving in to a magnificent luxury hotel. Irène at last accepts this new Jean. Un film mignon et agréable, propice à la détente. Ça pétille entre Gad et Audrey, qui ont l’air de faire un bon couple – Gad et son expression triste et Audrey qui, dans ce film, a un charme particulièrement prononcé. Le démarrage se fait doucement et gentiment, mais petit à petit, le comique de situation s'installe, jusqu’à mener au final que l’on souhaite tous.

Some people make their living by working, some by smiling beautifully... neither is bad... which is better? Audrey Tautou is truly delectable and Gad Elmaleh is a real cold fish... all of which adds up to such an unflinching unobtrusive comedy that is entertaining and exciting... The cast may not throw out zinger after zinger, but I still had fun. Calling this film "Hunt for a Rich Man" would fit much better for me...
