With all of his friends' parents divorcing, twelve-year-old Jason Hartwood is convinced his folks are splitting up when his father, Paul, takes a job interview in Chicago. Certain that if his Dad gets the job the family will split, his mission is clear - ruin Dad's day!
With the help of his older sister, Celina, Jason proceeds to turn Paul's trip into one absolute disaster after another. And when Laura Hartwood shows up to surprise her husband, the kids think she's there to divorce him instead. Now they have to keep her from finding him - while being sure they're not found out, either!
Once the kids finally realize that their parents aren't splitting up, they have some quick thinking and fast teamwork to not only save the day, but save themselves from being permanently grounded for life!
