Architect Török Ágoston marries Mária, a former singer in a night-club. Török's behaviour, now a jealous husband, is an obstacle to their happiness. Fuel to the fire is Török's obsession with the idea that Mária is flirting with engineer Arany István, his colleague. The husband soon learns from the detectives he has hired that his wife regularly dates an elderly gentleman. Mária explains every-thing, but the man in question turns out to be a bank governor, who just recently placed an important order with Török. Török turns down the offer and telling Arany to take care of his wife, he is on his way abroad. He is killed in a railway accident. Mária seems to see him everywhere, recognizing him in every single person. This is a warning from the hereafter to lead her back to Arany István's love. (texte officiel du distributeur)
