anglais Pasolini can provoke and disgust us with the vulgarity of the sexual scenes and perverse elements captured in his work. On the other hand, if nothing else, he provoked (small) bourgeoisie. Carlos Reygadas, on the other hand, captures naked bodies, sexual intercourse, and the caressing of the penis with aesthetically refined taste. The camera elegantly captures every detail of a just-sucked penis and then smoothly moves to the window and circles around the square of the historic center of Mexico City. What we have here is soft porn and a documentary in one... There are hinted dramas, such as the death of a child, and the empty life of the upper class, all complemented by religious symbols. However, it all somehow glides on the surface, the psychology of the characters and their ability to captivate the viewer's interest is zero, and I consider this whole film just a clever trick for festival audiences. This superficially decadent trip to Mexico disgusted me. Pasolini sometimes literally filmed about shit, and this film, excuse the expression, is also about shit in a figurative sense. Overall impression: 25%. ()
