anglais Filmed with ease, wit and insight, but not revelatory in any way. The visual gimmicks are downright annoying at times, and the idea of following your dream and overcoming all obstacles has been seen many times before, in a much more soulful and solid form. Shia, though, sets the bar very high for teenage actors. ()

anglais Unabashedly sentimental kitsch that manages the unique feat of turning sentiment into its great virtue. A poem with simple to trivial words, written in beautiful thought-provoking verse. My only quibble would be the visible shortness and the editor's rush, especially in the first half, thanks to which the film doesn't get boring for a moment, but also fails to prepare a solid enough emotional ground for the final poignant happy ending. That said, Bill Paxton proves he’s a great director who knows how to anchor completely mundane material beyond the reach of mediocrity, right in the popular and untarnished cinematic waters. 75% ()
