Silent Cradle

Helen Greg (Lorraine Bracco), a pregnant journalist covering a story on child abandonment, tragically loses her baby due to a fall she suffers while on assignment. Heartbroken, Helen is unable to summon the courage to tell her husband she can never conceive again. Instead, she attempts to get her reluctant husband to agree to adopting a child. When he doesn't, Helen begins researching the adoption process anyway. During her investigation, Helen learns from a source about an adoption agent, Jay Mitchell (Jason Gedrick), whose practices seem suspect. To follow through on a hunch, Helen needs the assistance of her friend and police detective, Cindy Wilson (Margot Kidder) the very same doctor who performed Helen's unsuccessful C-Section, Dr. Britain. When confronted, Dr. Britain immediately denies any wrongdoing. But Helen begins to put the pieces of a very deadly puzzle together convinced her baby is alive, she returns to the scene of the original crime, but in order to get back the one thing that means the most in the world to her, she must put her own life on the line.
