John Glenn: American Hero

The brief, adoring summary of Glenn’s career as a pilot, astronaut and politician, with remarkable documentary footage (much of which was amusingly used in The Right Stuff), smoothly transitions into a long, nauseatingly lofty advertisement for NASA and American-style heroism. That’s great if you want to more precisely know the background of what (i.e. straight-up propaganda) Kaufman's film reveals. Otherwise, it’s hardly watchable, especially for non-space enthusiasts.
