anglais The film is thematically similar to its more successful younger siblings, The Full Monty and Billy Elliot. The truth is that this film is not as entertaining as The Full Monty and does not have as sophisticated a screenplay as Billy Elliot, but it is still an above-average British film. It is a film that is much more direct and politically engaged from a left-wing standpoint, with several scenes that are overtly declarative and emotionally calculated, though indeed based on real events when tens of thousands of employees lost their jobs in the 80s and their lives irreversibly collapsed. There are a huge number of films that try to emotionally manipulate the viewer in favor of a much more trivial message. Overall impression: 70%. ()
