The Birth of a Woman

The movie The Birth of a Woman is a documentary essay that tries to find the essence of womanhood. It simultaneously asks the question of whether gender actually exists. The main character is the director herself who in her teenage years went through a very masculine phase. She’s trying to answer questions that many of us ask without saying them out loud. Thanks to the intimacy that the director carries to the project it brings a potential of understanding and accepting the often condemned gender topic. (Filmový festival inakosti)
